We LOVED getting to see our students at Open House this week! ❤️📚
Your smiles, excitement, and energy reminded us exactly why we do what we do. Please drop your pictures in the comments!
Just a quick reminder as we kick off the school year:
✨ Students with last names A–K start on Thursday, August 7.
✨ Students with last names L–Z start on Friday, August 8.
We can’t wait for an amazing year ahead!

As you're working through your checklist for back to school prep, don't forget to fill out your child's PowerSchool registration! If you have any questions about this, please email lcollins@ccboe.org. This will need to be completed before Open House.

We can't wait to meet our new 6th grade students! Please come to our informational meeting at 2:00 p.m. in the GHMS gym on Sunday, August 3. See information below. This is for our 6th grade students and families. (Open House for 7th and 8th grade will be Tuesday, August 5.)

We are thrilled to share some incredible news with the Good Hope Middle School community—our School Counseling Program has officially been recognized as a 2025 Alabama Program of Distinction! 🏆
This is not just a certificate or a plaque—it’s one of the most prestigious and difficult recognitions a school counseling program in Alabama can earn. The criteria are rigorous, and the review process is extensive, focusing on alignment with national best practices and a demonstrated commitment to student achievement, emotional wellness, and overall school impact.
This accomplishment is a reflection of our entire school community—because strong counseling programs thrive in schools where the whole staff believes in supporting the whole child. GHMS strives to foster a culture where students feel safe, supported, and known.
And we can’t go without recognizing our school counselor, Mrs. Laura Rankhorn. This award is a direct reflection of her passion for student growth and purpose in action.
Good Hope Middle, we did it! 🙌
Here’s to continuing the work that makes our school a place where students feel seen, supported, and equipped to thrive.
